AKAI

Akai was a Japanese consumer electronics brand. Akai Electric Company Ltd was founded in 1946 in Tokyo, Japan, and ceased to exist in 2002. Grande Holdings in Hong Kong acquired the Akai brand, now it distributes various electronic products, cooperating with other electronics manufacturers. At the same time, in Music Brands (USA) has taken over the Akai Professional brand and is engaged in the distribution of professional audio electronics.

The AKAI MPC series of products has had a great impact on the development of electronic and hip-hop music, allowing musicians and producers to create complex tracks without a studio and opening the way for new sampling methods.
